Privacy policy

Thamy is a customizable Chrome new-tab extension. It has no developer-operated analytics, advertising, accounts, or remote data-storage service.

Information Thamy handles

• Chrome browsing history: read locally to provide recent-site and autocomplete suggestions. Thamy does not create a separate history log or send browsing history to the developer.
• Preferences and shortcuts: settings such as your display name, user message, content layout, theme, and shortcut URLs are stored with Chrome Storage Sync when available. Chrome may synchronize this information through the Google account configured in Chrome. The selected background is stored locally because uploaded images are device-specific.
• Uploaded backgrounds: image files are stored locally in the extension's IndexedDB storage and are not synchronized or sent to the developer.
• Search queries: submitted through Chrome's Search API to the search provider selected in your Chrome settings. Thamy does not receive or retain those queries.
• Favicons: requested through Chrome's local favicon API. Thamy does not send page URLs to an external favicon service.
• Daily quotes: if you assign “Quote” to a content slot and choose the daily source while online, Thamy requests a quote from DummyJSON. The request does not include Chrome history, search queries, settings, shortcuts, or uploaded images. The response is cached locally for the current day. When offline or if the request fails, Thamy displays nothing in that slot.

Sharing and selling

Thamy does not sell personal information, use it for advertising or credit decisions, or provide it to the developer. Chrome Sync, your selected search provider, websites you choose to open, and DummyJSON when the optional quote feature is enabled process connection information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Retention and control

Preferences remain until you reset Thamy, remove them through Chrome, or uninstall the extension. Uploaded backgrounds can be deleted from Thamy's background gallery. The locally cached quote is replaced when a new online day is requested and is cleared when Thamy is reset. Browsing history remains under Chrome's history controls.

Thamy's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
